A photo from Being a Ghost (beingaghost.com) Red-tailed Hawk Takes Flight
I don’t remember ever seeing red-tailed hawks[1] in New York City[2] when I was a kid. But now I see them fairly regularly, especially in winter months, and I’m happy to have them as neighbors. I spotted this hawk as it landed on the water tower[3], and waited and watched until it took off. About the project: Being a Ghost by Scott Matthews is an interactive set of twenty-seven overlapping photographs taken from a single vantage in New York City between 2011 and 2016. Prints are available as interactive sets. |
